Welcome to our school.South Highlands was built in 1922 and was a neighborhood school until 1981. In 1981 South Highlands became an academic and performing arts magnet school with an emphasis on the arts. Our school has the distinction of being the highest achieving elementary school in the state and is the only school in Louisiana designated a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence TWICE by the U.S. Department of Education.
You will not find a more loving, nurturing, and family-oriented environment for your child. Not only is South Highlands known for its academic achievement, but we also excel in giving back to others in our local and global community. Our dedicated faculty, supportive parents, and talented students work as a cohesive team to create academically and socially aware student leaders who care about others. Together, we give our best and achieve the most! This is the legacy that is South Highlands. Thank you for visiting our website today.
