Lena Harris - Content Coach/Microsociety Coordinator
Lena Harris graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 1996. Lena has been teaching since receiving that degree in 1996 and has taught in public schools in Caddo Parish. She is certified to teach grades Kindergarten through 8th grade, but has concentrated her teaching in fourth and fifth grade. She received her national board certification in 2008 and renewed in 2016. She also earned her Masters degree for Supervision in 2017. She has been a member of the Louisiana Association of Teachers of Mathematics, and the International Reading Association. Lena moved to South Highlands Elementary Magnet School in 2018 and presently teaches Physical Education. She enjoys being actively involved with the students she teaches after school as well as during the day. She has served as a Teacher Leader, a Team Leader, a Teacher Rep for the PTSA Board, Region 7 representative for the Louisiana Science Teachers Association, and an Elementary Math Teacher support member for the district. She was selected Teacher of the Year in 2008 at the school level and a Teacher of the Year finalist for the 2016-17 school year by Caddo Parish Schools. Throughout her career she has also been a member of the principal's advisory group, a leader for Advanced Education, and served as a member of the school disciplinary committee as well as the School Improvement Plan. Lena is married and has one son.

Anna Scott Lewis - Art
Miss Lewis is a graduate of LSU and a South Highlands alumni. She student taught in first grade and gained field experience in kindergarten and second grade. Miss Lewis comes to South Highlands with a long history of working with children and parents. She is thrilled to be returning to her roots as a SHM Tiger!

Sheridan Shamburg - Library
Mrs. Shamburg graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a BA in Elementary Education. She has completed National Board Certification in literacy and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision. Additionally, she holds both a Reading Specialist Certification and Library Media Specialist Certification. She has served on many committees throughout her career including providing her expertise for various library task force initiatives at the parish level. Her experience in the classroom is in Reading and English with grades four through eight. Mrs. Shamburg moved to South Highlands in 2010 as a faculty member, but has been a South Highlands parent since 1998. She is the mom to four great kids, all of whom were students at South Highlands. Mrs. Shamburg enjoys spending time with her kids, reading, traveling, and attending her kids’ extra-curricular activities.

Terry Wright - Drama
Terry Wright went to college at Centenary where he got his Bachelor's in Music Education. After teaching for several years, he took some time off to take care of his baby who needed physical therapy. His daughter completely recovered the use of her arm and is currently the light of his life along with his wife. Mr. Wright joined South Highlands in 2013.

Audrey Garrett- French
Audrey Wolf-Garrett was born in Lyon, France. She was an exchange student in Utah during her senior year of high school, and she pursued graduate studies at the University of Oregon a few years later. She has taught English as a Second Language to French students in London, England and in the French cities of Paris, Lyon, Nice, Saint-Raphaël, and Draguignan. She moved to the United States in 2013 as an exchange teacher with the Council of Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL). She graduated with a Master’s degree in English and American Literature & History from the University of Lumière, in Lyon, France, and later obtained a Master’s degree in French as a Second Language from the University of Rouen, in France. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She loves traveling, running, swimming, doing yoga paddleboard, competing in badminton, sailing with her parents on the Mediterranean Sea, skiing in the French Alps, and learning new languages! Mrs. Wolf-Garrett is fluent in French, English, Spanish and a little bit of Italian.

Kelly Free - P.E.
Kelly holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from LSUS and a Master's Degree in Teaching from Louisiana Tech. After working in the business industry for several years, she sought a more rewarding career in education. She discovered a love for teaching and its rewards when she began subbing at South Highlands while her daughter was attending SHM. She began her teaching career in Caddo Parish in 2014 and moved to South Highlands in 2015. She married Keith Free in 2002 and they have a daughter, Sydney. Kelly enjoys reading, camping, and hiking with her family.

Scott Garrett - Music
Scott was born in Jacksonville, Florida. At the age of 4 he began singing in church and, shortly after, to play the piano. He started piano lessons on his 7th birthday. Scott studied music at Palm Beach Atlantic University, graduating with a BA degree with a concentration in conducting and music theory. After attending graduate school for a time to study conducting, and working in several churches, he pursued certification as a music teacher at Northwestern State University. Scott has worked in Caddo schools since 2003. He loves his wife, Audrey (yes, the French teacher) and his children. He enjoys playing the keys, preparing great food for family & friends and quoting movies (whether anybody realizes it or not!).
