Her students have won local, state, and national awards. She is thrilled to be teaching art at South Highlands and believes that teaching art is THE BEST JOB in the school system!
Mrs. Fontaine went to school at South Highlands from 1st grade through 6th grade (when dinosaurs still roamed Erie Street). Her three children Margaret, Anna, and Edward are all South Highlands alumni. Mrs. Fontaine now has the wonderful opportunity to experience South Highlands as a student, parent, and teacher. Frances is an artist and her work is shown locally.  The birds and other wildlife on the bayou where she lives inspire many of her paintings. Her goal is to instill in every child the love of art. Art is something that you can enjoy for the rest of your life, whether you are visiting an art gallery or museum, or producing art yourself!
